NetApp veteran takes on Hitachi NZ systems engineer role

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Grant Woodbury as senior systems engineer for its New Zealand business.

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has appointed Grant Woodbury as senior systems engineer for its New Zealand business, focusing on data management solutions as organisations execute on digital strategies.

Based in Auckland, Woodbury brings more than 25 years of storage and trans-Tasman channel knowledge to the company, following over a decade at fellow storage vendor NetApp.

Joining from Distribution Central, Woodbury joins Auckland-based territory manager Jacques Cronje to support recent market growth and to discover, expand and to provide technical depth and coverage locally.

With SQL development expertise with Sybase and hardware sales with Sun Microsystems, during his 15 year tenure with NetApp, Woodbury worked in various technical, account and channel management positions, across many industry sectors across Australia and New Zealand.

“This appointment highlights our commitment and focus to the New Zealand market,” HDS vice president and general manager, Nathan McGregor, said.

“With Grant’s extensive background in the IT industry, he will support our New Zealand team in generating future success.

“The market continues to offer great opportunities for companies to capitalise on digital transformation, and vendors that can offer valuable insights and innovative solutions will stand out as leaders.”
