Storage virtualisation vendor, ioFABRIC, has appointed Greg Wyman as vice-president for Asia-Pacific, where he will drive all operations in the region, based out of its new office in Sydney.

Wyman brings extensive experience to the new role gained through senior positions at EMC, Veritas, Symantec, Brocade and his most recent ten-year stint as vice-president of Asia-Pacific for StorageCraft.

“Greg is a proven expert at introducing and establishing new, highly disruptive technologies in the Asia Pacific region, and it is exciting to have him on board to build the business rapidly and develop a strong and loyal channel,” ioFABRIC co-founder and chief executive, Steven Lamb, said.

The company’s expansion in Asia-Pacific follows strong global demand for the Vicinity platform.

“It does to storage what virtualisation did to physical servers – we make storage easy to manage, cost effective and scalable without expensive forklift upgrades,” Wyman said.

“Our initial focus will be on A/NZ, and we will use that as a springboard to expand into the rest of Southeast Asia, Northern Asia and Japan.”
