Keith Watson has revealed plans to vacate his role as Managing Director of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, leaving his position on November 1.

“Over the next four months I will work with the team to provide a smooth hand over to a new leader,” Watson says.

“Its been a fabulous ride and I am looking forward to a mini break over the summer and then who knows what the future may hold.”

As a Reseller News Hall of Fame inductee in 2015, Watson has held the hot seat in New Zealand for 12 years, following a long and established career within the ICT industry.

In housing an in-depth understanding of the local ICT scene, Watson first entered the technology space in 1979, during his first stint at Hewlett Packard.

Sixteen years as the Senior VP of Worldwide Commercial and Channels Sales later, coupled with six years away from the company, Watson returned as Managing Director in 2004.

Since the vendor’s much publicised split on November 1 last year, Watson has headed up the Hewlett Packard Enterprise division in New Zealand.

Watson recently headlined the 2016 Reseller News ICT Industry Awards, advising the industry of the importance of investing time and resources into the next generation of Kiwi tech talent.
