NetApp has appointed James Kennedy-Moffat as Country Manager for New Zealand, effective immediately.

In this role, Kennedy-Moffat will be responsible for all aspects of the storage giant's New Zealand sales strategy, driving business growth, and strengthening all of its offerings for the local market.

“Since joining NetApp eight years ago, James has been crucial in driving growth in New Zealand,” says Steve Manley, Vice President for NetApp ANZ.

“We had our biggest ever currency-adjusted sales year in FY16 despite a time of constrained IT spending and under James’ leadership we anticipate this momentum to continue.”

According to Manley, this move echoes NetApp’s increased focus and investment in New Zealand.

Kennedy-Moffat has been with NetApp since 2008, most recently as New Zealand Sales Director with his appointment coming on the back of some "excellent recent results" in the market.

“There are two key challenges facing our customers’ businesses – the need for business agility and the influence of cloud,” Kennedy-Moffat adds.

“Only NetApp’s data fabric approach enables them to move data easily between locations (cloud or on-site) and give flexibility, speed and cost certainty.

"I’m excited to continue educating existing and new customers on this in New Zealand.”

Kennedy-Moffat brings over a decade of experience to the role, with experience driving sales and market share growth in the New Zealand market.
