CommVault has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer support for the Cloud services company’s petabyte-scale data transport solution, Snowball.

CommVault’s support looks to enable faster migration of large amounts of data and will provide disaster recovery options in the Cloud.

The company said by using AWS Snowball with CommVault software, customers can also overcome challenges associated with large-scale data transfers such as high network costs and security concerns.

"CommVault shares in our vision to give customers differentiated options for mapping their journey to the Cloud by using AWS Snowball as a new alternative model for simplifying Cloud adoption and data transfer to increase operational efficiencies, mobility and speed," AWS vice-president of engineering, Bill Vass, said.

CommVault senior director and general manager of Cloud business unit, Sabrinath Rao, said AWS is an "important collaborator", with Snowball a "natural fit" and extension of integration with the company’s portfolio.

“Accelerating our customers’ journey to the AWS Cloud and removing friction from the process is core to CommVault’s value proposition," he said.

"It is a testament to our commitment to our mutual customers in accelerating new and innovative ways to leverage the power of the Cloud across all stages of the experience while keeping their data protected and accessible at all times."

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
