LANDESK, has finalised the acquisition of endpoint security and user profile management vendor, Appsense.

The acquisition marries two companies with a shared focus on the end user, with the combined organisation employing more than 1200 employees in 22 countries, servicing 15,000 customers across over 25 million endpoints through the help of over 500 partners.

Specifically, the merger looks to strengthen LANDESK’s security offerings and its unified endpoint management capabilities by extending management to physical and virtual devices.

Planned product integration includes Xtraction to connect information from the AppSense database with other sources of IT business data for real-time reporting and Workspaces integration to provide a centralised view of users and devices in an environment.

LANDESK said it is also soliciting feedback from customers to help prioritise areas for additional integration over time and plans to maintain AppSense products as stand-alone offerings that can be purchased and used separately.

According to LANDESK chief executive, Steve Daly, the feedback since announcing the intention to buy AppSense in March 2016 has been positive.

“Nearly everyone, from customers to industry analysts, has had positive things to say," he added.

"We look forward to digging in and beginning the process of integrating teams and technologies, and to start getting to know the AppSense partners and customer base."

Malwarebytes shoots the breeze with channel, prospects

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
