Cogent carves out complimentary managed service mix with Kiwi acquisition

“We have been looking for great tech companies, that can complement our managed service portfolio."

Unified Communications provider Cogent has acquired Network Pro, an Auckland-based service provider.

Set to be completed on April 1, the acquisition - for an undisclosed fee - brings together two growing New Zealand companies, with Cogent taking control of a company with over 20 years of business across the country.

“We have been looking for great tech companies, that can complement our managed service portfolio,” says Ray Noonan, CEO, Cogent.

“Network Pro has the right culture, people and skills and will be a great addition to Cogent.”

At present, Cogent’s managed service portfolio includes business and unified Communications as well as contact centre offerings.

As such, Noonan believes the Network Pro acquisition enables Cogent to deliver “dynamic, intelligent and secure” networks to clients.

“We will be able to create exceptional solutions for clients to embrace transformational cloud and digital solutions in a highly secure manner,” he adds.

“In keeping with our managed service portfolio these solutions will be dynamic and scalable.

“We are excited about the possibilities this acquisition creates for existing Cogent and Network Pro clients.”

As Noonan explains, the acquisition is “fundamental” to Cogent’s overall strategy of creating depth and scale to its managed services offerings for New Zealand businesses.

“The consolidated market offering that the new company will offer is fundamental to enabling secure connection to the cloud, the entire Network Pro offering will compliment Cogent,” adds Ron van Twuiver, Founder and Owner, Network Pro.

“We are pleased to announce that 100 percent of Network Pro’s staff will be joining the merged business.”

Noonan says the Network Pro brand and trading will be integrated into Cogent over the next few months.
