Synnex will move into a new Auckland warehouse within the coming months, in response to strong market growth in New Zealand.

Confirmed exclusively to Reseller News, the distribution giant will vacate its current East Tamaki premises and move to “within walking distance” early in the second quarter of 2016.

Synnex’s current headquarters is Unit F, 38 Highbrook Drive, East Tamaki - around 18km from Auckland CBD - with the new warehouse staying within the East Tamaki area.

“The contract has been signed and the warehouse is currently under construction,” says Kee Ong, CEO, Synnex Australia and New Zealand, speaking exclusively to Reseller News.

Since first entering the New Zealand market in 2005 - officially trading from September 12 that year - Ong says the move is in response to the distributor’s growing channel business across the country.

“It will be a brand new warehouse that is three times bigger than our current facility, which is not big enough for our needs,” he says.

“It’s a big move for Synnex in New Zealand and because of our growth, it will provide us with infrastructure for the next three years at least.

“Even though we’re a global distributor, localisation is important and in New Zealand, we continue to change our mindset to adapt to the local market.”
