​Riverbed taps Intel Security MD for chief trans-Tasman role

Riverbed Technology has appointed Keith Buckley as its Regional Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, succeeding Ian Raper, who has been appointed to the new role of Vice President of Solutions for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Buckley brings to the role more than 18 years’ experience, joining Riverbed from Intel Security (McAfee) where he served as Managing Director for the past three years.

Prior to that he held senior leadership positions at EMC, Symantec and Dell, and will lead the region’s sales team and drive strategic operations, planning and the growth of Riverbed’s business across both sides of the Tasman.

“Keith is an industry stalwart and is the ideal candidate to lead the Australian and New Zealand business at a time of rapidly evolving, highly complex and hybrid IT environments,” says Bjorn Engelhardt, Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan, Riverbed.

“His passion and leadership as a business manager will be invaluable as more companies turn to us to help them transform application performance into a competitive advantage.”

Buckley takes over the role from Raper, who led the A/NZ business for more than five years and has been a part of Riverbed since 2008.

In his new role, Raper will focus on solution selling to strategic accounts and aligning the Riverbed partner ecosystem to support this transition as Riverbed continues its transformation to an end-to-end application performance platform provider.

Raper will have a particular focus on supporting the company’s growth and expansion in India, China and Japan.
