Ingram Micro bolsters fitness wearables range with new NZ deal

“This is an incredibly innovative fitness tracker."

Ingram Micro has strengthened its play within the fitness wearables space in New Zealand, signing a sub-distribution agreement with Moov, developers of Moov Now fitness wearables.

“This is an incredibly innovative fitness tracker,” says Kelly Eyerman, General Manager Apple, Consumer and Retail, Ingram Micro.

“The running tracker will coach you along your way and alert you when your stride is too slow - and it keeps you going through out each interval of your training. It’s a great work-out training tool.”

Moov’s designers say Moov Now is designed to promote lifestyle transformations, tracking active minutes instead of just steps.

Eyerman says Moov’s algorithm and active minutes approach takes into account intensity and accurately tracks activities such as swimming and cycling that shouldn’t be represented as steps.

Achieving active minutes requires a higher expenditure of energy that the company says is more effective in living a healthy lifestyle.

“Moov is not simply an activity tracking device,” Eyerman adds.

“Through a combination of innovative hardware and software, Moov effectively delivers personalised coaching. That’s because Moov is able to translate exact motion in 3D space into coaching feedback capable of taking the fitness and workout experience to a whole new level.”
