EXCLUSIVE: EMC unifies NZ business operations as RSA joins Ingram Micro

EMC unifies distributor operations in New Zealand, bringing its security division under the guidance of Ingram Micro.

EMC has unified its distributor operations in New Zealand, bringing its security division RSA under the guidance of Ingram Micro.

Sources close to Reseller News say the distribution agreement was signed on December 8, and is now effective in the New Zealand market.

“EMC has aligned all its business operations under a single distributor in New Zealand,” an EMC spokesperson confirmed to Reseller News.

“Effective from Tuesday 8th December, EMC and RSA will be working with Ingram Micro as our distribution partner for New Zealand.

“The Ingram Micro distribution agreement takes effect on the same day (8 December), following a short transition period.”

RSA, as the security division of EMC, provides expertise in fraud detection and data protection, as well as security analytics and GRC capabilities - including consulting and advisory services.

The RSA deal follows the signing of a distribution agreement between Ingram Micro and EMC in New Zealand in May earlier this year, replacing Westcon after nine years of service.

EMC’s unification of business operations also brings an end to RSA’s association with Westcon - now Westcon-Comstor - in New Zealand, following a distribution agreement which started on April 1, 2014.

“RSA thanks Westcon for the partnership we have had with them,” an EMC spokesperson confirmed to Reseller News.

A spokesperson also said that the move does not affect the Australian region.
