Networking industry veteran aims to turn up the heat in new regional Ruckus Wireless role

"I look forward to getting involved in driving the company’s next phase of growth in APAC.”

Ruckus Wireless has appointed Andrew Cook as Business Development Director for Asia-Pacific, to continue to drive the company’s growth plans in the region.

According to the networking vendor, Cook will work with sales teams in Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan, to develop high value and strategic business opportunities for the company.

Reporting into William Ho, VP of APAC, Cook brings over thirty years’ experience to Ruckus, having been a thought leader, driver and evangelist of many creative and innovative networking strategies and architectures.

Cook will oversee the business engagement in the region and will help drive Ruckus brand awareness and product adoption, continuing to grow and expand the success Ruckus has achieved.

“Cook’s proven ability to successfully develop and implement business strategies for leading technology companies in Australia and New Zealand will be an invaluable asset as Ruckus continues its rapid growth in the region,” says William Ho, VP of APAC, Ruckus Wireless.

“We look forward to utilising his experience, technical knowledge and consulting skills to build upon our market share in APAC, across key enterprise sectors including hospitality, retail, healthcare, transportation hubs and education.”

Cook has previously held senior management roles at leading enterprise and service provider organisations across A/NZ including Blue Coat Systems, F5 Networks, Nortel Networks, Alteon WebSystems and Westpac Banking Corporation.

In various roles, Cook has been responsible for developing business performance strategies, while ensuring alignment of both resources and company priorities.

“I’m thrilled to join Ruckus,” Cook adds. “The company has such a unique focus and culture committed to innovation.

“For me, it’s important to be at a company that develops products that really address the core business issues in the market and deliver innovative solutions.

“In my mind, Ruckus leads that charge in the wireless industry with its Smart Wi-Fi solutions and I look forward to getting involved in driving the company’s next phase of growth in APAC.”
