Connector Systems boosts data storage offering with Infinio A/NZ distie deal

Connector Systems announces distribution agreement with Infinio for the New Zealand and Australia markets.

Connector Systems has announced a distribution agreement with Infinio for the New Zealand and Australia markets.

According to the A/NZ distributor, Infinio provides a “fundamentally new architecture” to solve the problem of data storage performance in virtualised environments.

Many IT organisations face the challenge of accelerating storage performance in virtualised environments, but traditional solutions are generally expensive, require hardware and disrupt ongoing operations.

Mark Dasent, Australia and New Zealand general manager at Connector Systems, says that Infinio Accelerator solves this problem, enabling customers to acquire storage performance separately from capacity, in a way that is “less intrusive, more flexible, requires no operational changes” and is less than half the cost of similar alternatives.

“The solution increases storage performance by leveraging existing host resources without any additional hardware investment or changes to existing configurations,” he explains.

Dasent says that many new technologies emerging in the data storage industry place a heavy burden on IT staffs, requiring them to rip and replace current systems with expensive new alternatives.

“We believe that, despite an array of complexities, storage has just two roles to play - provide the storage performance and the storage capacity that applications need,” adds Neel Shah, Channel Manager, Infinio.

"We also believe that these are best done separately. So we’ve built industry-leading software that delivers storage performance from the server- side, closer to enterprise applications.

“Infinio’s unique architecture offers the efficiency of a global, content-based system combined with the flexibility of a content-addressable system with perfect distribution.”

For Dasent, Infinio approaches the conundrum of storage performance problems from an alternative angle.

“Instead of ‘rip and replace’, its approach is to ‘add and solve’ with an operationally non- disruptive software solution,” he adds.

“The installation of Infinio Accelerator means organisations don’t have to replace already existing resources but do leverage them - all for less than half the cost of comparable alternatives, which is very attractive to end users.

“Connector Systems is excited to be closely associated with Infinio - a fast-growing company offering a fresh and innovative approach to the global storage market, particularly in the healthcare, enterprise and government sectors."
