Dell New Zealand has appointed Ingram Micro as its distributor in New Zealand, offering the full range of Dell’s commercial and enterprise products, spanning end-user compute and infrastructure.
“We are delighted that Dell has selected Ingram Micro as its distribution partner in New Zealand,” says Gary Bigwood, Managing Director, Ingram Micro New Zealand.
“This is great news for all our resellers and we are really excited for what the future holds.”
James Arnold, general manager, Dell New Zealand, says the appointment of Ingram Micro sends a clear signal that Dell is “genuinely committed” to implementing a full channel strategy in New Zealand.
“This isn’t Dell dipping its toe in the water so to speak,” he says.
“We have partnered with Ingram Micro because it is a global company with systems and process to match, coupled with an intimate knowledge of the New Zealand market and how best to meet the needs of customers.
“Partnering with Ingram Micro gives us immediate access to a channel that is both broad and deep. Our existing customers are able to benefit from this as of today.
“We want to give our customers choice, supported by rapid availability through local stock and the first-class service Ingram Micro is known for.
“We look forward to delivering that in New Zealand in partnership with Ingram Micro.”
Arnold adds that both Dell and Ingram Micro will have dedicated teams to ensure that the new partnership is an immediate success.
“Through this agreement, our customers receive even greater choice, allowing them access to Dell’s quality products, along with Ingram Micro’s financial strength, selection of complementary products and services, and specialised marketing expertise,” he adds.
“We’re looking forward to a long and mutually successful relationship.”
Bigwood says the timing of the agreement is ideal for resellers, as the Ingram Micro Showcase events are being held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch starting today.
“It’s perfect for our reseller partners as they can come along to Showcase, meet the Dell team, get all the information they need on the products and attend a seminar session with the Dell team to gain real insights on how they can best incorporate Dell products into the solutions they offer their customers,” Bigwood adds.
Ingram Micro Showcase kicks off in Auckland on Tuesday 18 August, from 9.00am - 4.30pm at ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane.
From there it moves to Wellington on Friday 21 August, from 9.00am - 4.00pm at TSB Arena, Queens Wharf, before heading to Christchurch on Monday 24 August, from 9.00am - 4.00pm at Horncastle Arena, Addington.
