Vista’s turning Japanese with new distribution deal

Vista Entertainment Solutions signs distribution agreement with Vinx Corporation (Vinx), a leading software services provider in Japan.

Vista Entertainment Solutions (VES), a company of Vista Group International, has signed a distribution agreement with Vinx Corporation (Vinx), a leading software services provider in Japan.

The agreement is non-exclusive and enables the sale and distribution of VES software in the Japanese market for the first time.

Based in Osaka, Vinx also has operations throughout the region; their business has focused on supermarket and convenience store clients including the design and development of point of sale (POS) systems that have an indirect relationship to the core cinema management software expertise of VES.

In addition, some of their clients have invested in cinema exhibition, for example AEON, which is the largest Japanese cinema chain.

Vinx will introduce VES to cinema exhibitors from as early as this month with the first VES customers in Japan not expected until 2016.

With distance no longer a viable defence, Kiwi businesses are fighting to stay ahead of the security curve. In total, 28 per cent of local businesses faced a cyber attack last year, with the number in New Zealand set to rise in 2017. Yet amidst the sensationalism, media headlines and ongoing high profile breaches, confusion floods the channel, as partners seek strategic methods to combat rising sophistication from attackers. In sizing up the security spectrum, this Reseller News roundtable - in association with F5 Networks, Kaspersky Lab, Tech Data, Sophos and SonicWall - assessed where the channel sweet spot is within the New Zealand channel.
