Datacom joins exclusive Cloud club with AWS Managed Services Partner status

“Our goal is to bring a new level of customer centricity to the managed service provider market.”

New Zealand technology solutions provider, Datacom, has passed a third-party audit to achieve Amazon Web Services Managed Service Provider Partner status.

According to the growing Kiwi company, becoming an AWS Managed Service Partner validates Datacom’s ability to meet strategic customer business needs and broadens its stable of AWS solutions across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The AWS Managed Service Program’s third-party audit process reviews more than 75 checklist items across 18 capability areas including security, application and infrastructure migration, solution design, process optimisation and customer support.

Furthermore, the AWS Managed Service Partner designation builds on Datacom’s demonstrated customer success on AWS and reinforces its commitment to customer outcomes by delivering enterprise-grade managed services across hybrid and cloud architectures.

“AWS Managed Service Partners are highly skilled at Cloud infrastructure and application migration, delivering value to customers by offering a range of services to provide proactive monitoring, automation and management of their customer’s environment,” says Shane Owenby, managing director of Asia-Pacific, Amazon Web Services.

“Meeting the substantial requirements to join the AWS Managed Service Program reflects Datacom’s commitment to enable customers to effectively run mission-critical applications on the AWS Cloud.”

Following the recognition, Datacom joins a group of less than 20 AWS Managed Service Partners worldwide to achieve AWS Managed Service Partner status and is one of the first in the Asia Pacific market.

“Datacom is committed to delivering market leading technologies,” adds Alexandra Coates, Datacom director.

“Joining the AWS Managed Service Program is a natural extension of our customer-centric strategy and implementation expertise across our 50-year history.

“Datacom’s managed service capability on AWS means that no matter where the customer is in their Cloud adoption journey, we have the people and the expertise to support their decisions.

“Our goal is to bring a new level of customer centricity to the managed service provider market.”

As an AWS Channel Reseller and AWS Government Partner Program member, the AWS Managed Service Program complements Datacom’s existing Enterprise Datacom Cloud Service (DCS) which it has been providing to public and private sector clients across Australasia since 2009.

Sizing up the NZ security spectrum - Where's the channel sweet spot?

From new extortion schemes, outside threats and rising cyber attacks, the art of securing the enterprise has seldom been so complex or challenging. With distance no longer a viable defence, Kiwi businesses are fighting to stay ahead of the security curve. In total, 28 per cent of local businesses faced a cyber attack last year, with the number in New Zealand set to rise in 2017. Yet amidst the sensationalism, media headlines and ongoing high profile breaches, confusion floods the channel, as partners seek strategic methods to combat rising sophistication from attackers. In sizing up the security spectrum, this Reseller News roundtable - in association with F5 Networks, Kaspersky Lab, Tech Data, Sophos and SonicWall - assessed where the channel sweet spot is within the New Zealand channel.
