Partners ready and waiting as Avnet Technology launches Cloud Toolset in NZ

Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, has officially launched the Avnet Cloud Toolset for New Zealand partners.

Launched also across the ditch in Australia, the company says the Avnet Cloud Toolset helps managed service provider (MSP) and value-added reseller (VAR) partners govern, consolidate, manage and track cloud accounts across multiple cloud providers.

By leveraging ACT, partners can ensure that their SoftLayer (IBM) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers are provided with visibility into cloud spending and invoices that accurately track individual and aggregate cloud usage for their organisations, helping them to optimise their enterprise-wide spending.

“The Avnet Cloud Toolset is set to revolutionise the way partners can participate in the burgeoning market for cloud resources,” says Chris Farrow, Business Manager, Avnet Cloud Services Avnet Technology Solutions, Australia and New Zealand.

“It takes billing to an entirely new level, providing enterprise-level reporting of cloud resource consumption across multiple providers including SoftLayer and AWS.

“Avnet’s Cloud Services team is ready to enable our partners to take full advantage of the new business opportunities that ACT presents.”

Farrow says ACT supports partners with governance and cloud consolidation, providing quick visibility and usage across multiple platforms to help manage, track and optimise cloud spend.

“It not only enables simple tracking of actual usage charges across every major service category for AWS and SoftLayer,” he explains, “but also generates bills and invoices, packages in subscription-based services, defines how usage charges are billed, and even incorporate third-party services.”

ACT features dashboards and customisable reports to provide an aggregated view for partners to track all cloud service usage across their accounts and share this information with their customers.

As explained by Farrow, the SaaS-delivered application enables partners to provide premium support for their customers by organising and tracking costs and profitability, accessing granular usage details and providing a multi-tier view of usage and costs.

The Avnet Cloud Toolset was first launched in November, 2014 for Avnet Technology Solutions partners within the U.S and Canada and, after its initial success, Farrow says the A/NZ market was uncovered as the next growth opportunity with the application now available to all Avnet partners across Australia and New Zealand.
