Brocade builds for the Cloud with new A/NZ channel chief hire

New partner chief responsible for establishing, refining and managing all channel relationships for the A/NZ region.

Brocade has announced the appointment of Paul Barge to the role of Channel Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Barge will be responsible for establishing, refining and managing all channel relationships for the A/NZ region, as well as providing the sales and marketing support required to assist partner evolution to a cloud-optimised networking environment.

In his role, he will share his time between Sydney and Auckland, reporting to Gary Denman, Brocade Senior Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Barge has held senior management roles during a successful 25-year global information technology (IT) career during which he was responsible for building high-level partner engagements on behalf of the world’s leading IT vendors.

Possessing an in-depth understanding of software, hardware and cloud technologies, Barge has used this insight to establish and grow sales channel strategies and programs in key markets around the world for organisations including Microsoft, Cisco and Red Hat.

“Paul’s appointment is very relevant for our channel as we revitalise our partners’ abilities to market, sell and implement the new open network in a cloud computing era," says Gary Denman, Brocade senior director for Australia and New Zealand.

"We are helping our customers go live with more dynamic, virtualised networking platforms, and it is crucial that we have the right team and leaders in place to better align the channel with customer needs."

Barge has commenced his role and is currently in discussion with channel partners in Australia and New Zealand to deliver programs and tools that communicate how the new network is able to deliver cloud principles everywhere.

“This is a great time to join Brocade especially with all of the opportunities that exist for the enterprise today," he says.

"I firmly believe that my role at Brocade will have a positive impact on the direction of the open and agile network.

"I am looking forward to working with our valued partners to help them assess and modernise their customer’s network whilst decreasing the risk level in their future investments.

"Brocade has a great pedigree in technology and engineering excellence, and with recent innovations, we now have the open standard software solutions and finance options that are sought after by enterprise."
