Complete network visibility is critical: Emulex

Network monitoring company also expects the role of the NetOps team to increase.

A limited understanding persists about the importance of network visibility, according to Emulex.

APJ network visibility products business development and marketing director, Brett Moorgas, said this is despite an increasing number of high profile security breaches and outages.

“It is more important than ever for businesses to deliver high quality network performance and security,” he said.

In 2015, Moorgas expects to see greater recognition for the network operations (NetOps) team in an organisations

“The NetOps teams will be seen as the ‘heroes’ of the organisation, as the enterprise increasingly realises how critical the network is to all facets of IT, from Cloud to mobility and app availability,” he said.

Educating about visibility

Moorgas foresees a greater need for solutions that provide a complete view of what is happening on the network to enable key functions and services to be delivered smoothly.

Emulex will use the next year to spread the network visibility message and grow its products division across APAC.

“Our growth and valued solutions have in particular been reflected through our partnerships this year with local financial institutions, IRESS and ASX,” he said.

The company also collaborated recently with the educational institution, Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand (REANNZ).
