Dell is set to open two new Australian datacentres as part of a Cloud expansion plan in partnership with Digital Realty and 6YS.
The two new data centres will be located in Sydney and Melbourne, to add to its two existing data centres in Canberra and Brisbane.
"As an end-to-end solutions provider, Dell is focused on meeting customer's evolving needs including demand to have a data centre presence in local geographical proximity to customer operations," according to a statement.
"Dell's collaboration with Digital Realty enables the company to answer that demand and continue to grow its Cloud services offerings in Australia."
Dell Cloud services director, Kyle Bunting, said the company would provide an outsourced option for clients when it no longer made sense for them to house their own data centres.
"By doing so they have peace of mind knowing that power, cooling and up-time has been taken care of," he said. "Our offering encompasses hardware software and services.
"With the key components of a data centre taken care of, our customers can concentrate on doing what they do best, running their companies."
According to a company statement, Australian customers will benefit from Digital Realty's data centre facilities, combined with Dell's concentration on supporting its customers through consolidation of IT, hosting and managed services , apps development, managed security services through SecureWorks and it's new Cloud services offering through 6YS.
The inclusion of 6YS into the global Dell Cloud Partner Program will allow customers to access Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Software-as-a-Service, Communications-as-a-Service, Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service and Backup-as-a-Service.
6YS managing director, Sam Forbes said the partnership would see Dell datacentres and Dell products fused with his company's innovative IP and Cloud Services to deliver the next generation of industry leading Cloud and IT-as-a-Service solutions for Australian businesses.
The SaaS platform enables deliver of any Windows or customer applications as required, offering hosted exchange, SharePoint, Lync, SQL, Dynamics, Project Server, all in country.
The CaaS model offers access to more than 17 Australian carriers including Telstra, Optus, AAPT, TPG and NBN Co.
Links and routers are monitored from Dell's Network Operations Centre.
The offering also supports SIP trunking, conferencing, video conferencing, business telephony and mobile services to enable delivery of unified communications to customers.
