Westcon Group Aus adds 'Kiwi flavour' to sales ranks

“David’s appointment to this role will serve to strengthen Westcon Group’s plans for the future, helping to deliver the Group’s sales priorities and strong results."

Westcon Group New Zealand has announced the decision to appoint David Hook into the role of Sales Director in Westcon Group Australia.

Having spent the last six years in a number of sales positions within Westcon Group NZ, the distributor says Hook has demonstrated a "high level of experience" in sales, sales management and general business management.

In 2011 he took up the role of National Sales Manager NZ and two years ago was promoted to NZ General Manager of Sales.

In his three year tenure leading the sales team, Mark Baker, Sales and Marketing Director, Westcon Group NZ says Hook has demonstrated a "strong track record" in delivering overall sales success, and has made an "outstanding contribution" to the leadership team in New Zealand which will be of benefit to the leadership of the business in Australia.

“David’s appointment to this role will serve to strengthen Westcon Group’s plans for the future, helping to deliver the Group’s sales priorities and strong results," Baker says.

"The fact that Westcon Group offers opportunities like this to retain expertise and build out ANZ through sharing of resource, is testimony to the investment it makes in its people and the high level of collaborative opportunities within the business.”

Baker adds that Westcon Group NZ is committed to ensuring the high expectations, standards and successes Hook leaves behind are fulfilled through the appointment of a new NZ General Manager of Sales.

As a result, Westcon Group NZ will continue to reinvest into the business locally to support the growth of business ahead and deliver the same level of service and outcomes customers have come to expect.

Based in the Westcon Group Sydney office after relocating with his family to Australia, Hook will take up his new role on November 1.
