Linksys unveils new Wi-Fi access point for Aussie SMBs

Follows Linksys' Australian re-launch in May

Linksys has launched its first Pro Series Wi-Fi access point in the Australian market for SMBs.

The Wireless-AC Dual Band Access Point offers advanced features to equip SMBs with more management capabilities and better performance at an affordable price.

This follows Linksys' re-launch in May and the introduction of the WRT1900AC Router.

The new model supports cluster management to simplify management of multiple access points from one single interface, and a fully customisable captive portal for businesses to welcome visitors in a branded environment.

Linksys A/NZ product manager, Dann Hall, the company's resurgence in Australia and New Zealand was continuing, with the Pro Series becoming an important part of our local Wi-Fi access point lineup.

"We are committed to delivering high quality, enterprise-grade features to small and medium-sized business at affordable pricing,” he said.

“The Pro Series addresses an important market need for small and medium-sized businesses, who too often have to choose between high-end enterprise hardware or consumer products to address their needs.

"I’m confident that our Pro Series Access Point provides the right balance of advanced features and affordability to this crucial but often under-addressed sector.”

The Linksys Pro Series Wireless-AC Access Point is available now through Distributors and Resellers for $600.

Sizing up the NZ security spectrum - Where's the channel sweet spot?

From new extortion schemes, outside threats and rising cyber attacks, the art of securing the enterprise has seldom been so complex or challenging. With distance no longer a viable defence, Kiwi businesses are fighting to stay ahead of the security curve. In total, 28 per cent of local businesses faced a cyber attack last year, with the number in New Zealand set to rise in 2017. Yet amidst the sensationalism, media headlines and ongoing high profile breaches, confusion floods the channel, as partners seek strategic methods to combat rising sophistication from attackers. In sizing up the security spectrum, this Reseller News roundtable - in association with F5 Networks, Kaspersky Lab, Tech Data, Sophos and SonicWall - assessed where the channel sweet spot is within the New Zealand channel.
