Nextgen Distribution gets Nimble in NZ

Long-term monitoring of startup vendor turns into partnership

Sydney-based enterprise distributor, Nextgen Distribution, has been appointed to the Nimble Storage Partner Network as a value-added distributor for New Zealand.

Nextgen will assist in driving sales and market penetration for the vendor’s flash-optimised hybrid storage solutions within both the public and private enterprise sectors.

The distributor made the move to build on its mission to introduce emerging enterprise technologies to its reseller base.

According to Nextgen A/NZ managing director, Terry Dunn, the distributor monitored Nimble’s growth within the local market since the Silicon Valley startup selected Sydney as its Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters in September 2012.

“After a visit to Nimble’s San Jose headquarters we were convinced of its strong value proposition,” Dunn said. “We have observed the expanding customer requirements for performance-based hybrid storage solutions and we believe that Nimble is well-positioned to take advantage of this demand.

Commenting on the agreement, Nimble channel sales director, Theo Hourmouzis, said the vendor is completely committed to the channel.

“We believe enterprises should not have to compromise on performance, capacity, ease of use, or price,” he said. “Therefore we have built a partner ecosystem with over 900 partners worldwide to provide enterprises access to our storage technology from their existing trusted partners.”
