Software maker appoints new A/NZ senior vice president and managing director

Software maker CA Technologies has appointed Hope Powers to lead it’s A/NZ operations after Bill McMurray decided to leave the company.

Powers will take over from McMurray as A/NZ senior vice-president and managing director immediately, according to a company statement.

Powers is responsible for driving sales, building the partner ecosystem, developing new business and managing overall operations in the region.

Powers reports directly to CA Technologies president and general manager of Asia-Pacific and Japan, Kenneth Arredondo.

Arredondo said Powers had held management roles in sales and finance.

“She has achieved significant results by fostering teamwork, improving customer relationships and exceeding sales goals,” he said.

“Hope has extensive experience working with customers in APJ and in A/NZ.

“I am confident that Hope will help our customers leverage IT to meet their business demands and gain a competitive advantage.”

Powers said she was excited to lead the ANZ team.

“This is a region with growth opportunities," she said.

"Our focus, strategies and solutions will help our customers better leverage IT to win in this market.”

Powers has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Mercer University in Atlanta, USA. She also maintains an active Certified Public Accountant license.

Powers has been with CA Technologies since 1997.

Most recently, she was senior vice president of customer portfolio management for Asia Pacific and Japan and Latin America.
