BAE Systems Detica renames

Rebrand emphasises firm’s applied intelligence focus

BAE Systems Detica will rename to BAE Systems Applied Intelligence from February 1 as it looks to place greater focus on growth within its applied intelligence portfolio.

The information consulting firm said the move will also allow it to become more closely aligned to parent company, BAE Systems.

A company statement said its repositioning reflects how it will respond to the new opportunities and risks the connected world presents to organisations, while continuing to provide existing services and innovation associated with the Detica and BAE Systems brands.

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence managing director, Martin Sutherland, claims the reach of the BAE Systems brand in combination with its applied intelligence capabilities will serve as the company’s market differentiator.

As a company which services enterprises and government departments with cyber security, financial crime protection, communications intelligence and digital transformation, the firm believes the decision better positions it to provide protection in both the physical and virtual worlds.

“The increasing ownership of Critical National Infrastructure by private business and fast-evolving technology now means that the front line is as much in enterprise as it is on physical borders,” Sutherland said.

The ability to combine experience with technology skills has never been more important and by helping protect nations, both physically and virtually, BAE Systems can help increase national prosperity and national security in new ways.”

A Kumeu, Auckland, winery was the venue for a Malwarebytes event for partner and prospect MSPs - with some straight shooting on the side. The half-day getaway, which featured an archery competition, lunch and wine-tasting aimed at bringing Malwarebytes' local New Zealand and top and prospective MSP partners together to celebrate recent local successes, and discuss the current state of malware in New Zealand. This was also a unique opportunity for local MSPs to learn about how they can get the most out of Malwarebytes' MSP program and offering, as more Kiwi businesses are targeted by malware.
