Distribution Central grows CloudPOD offering

Adds a new Cloud Storage and Archiving CloudPOD based on Riverbed and AWS

Distribution Central has added a new CloudPOD solution for Cloud Storage and Archiving.

It will be based on Riverbed and Amazon Web Services and will come in three options to suit different customer requirements, based on a monthly opex billing model.

“It’s the latest in a suite of cloud-enabled solutions and services that we’ve designed to ensure that any of our reseller partners can deliver their own cloud or managed service if they choose to do so, by offering them a single aggregation point for configuration, transaction processing , support and optimised delivery,” Distribution Central managing director, Nick Verykios, said.

This follows on from Distribution Central’s Hybrid NetApp Private Storage CloudPOD launched earlier this year.

The CloudPODs are pre-defined cloud solutions that can be tailored through the DC CloudSelect configurator. It aims to help partners transition their customers to using cloud-based services.

In September, DC CloudSelect was crowned Best Distributor Initiative at the 2103 ARN IT Industry Awards.

During FY13, Distribution Central cracked $250 million in revenue, employing more than 120 staff across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
