Juniper Networks replaces retiring CEO

Shaygan Kheradpir taking the reins from Kevin Johnson

Networking company, Juniper Networks, has named Shaygan Kheradpir as its new chief executive officer (CEO), replacing Kevin Johnson who in July announced his plan to retire.

Kheradpir will take the reins on January 1, 2014, while Johnson will remain a member of the board.

According to Juniper Networks chairman of the board, Scott Kriens, Kheradpir was selected on the back of a comprehensive search process, and qualified due to his proven track record of successful business operations and technology leadership. He is also recognised for his industry knowledge and technical vision from the perspectives of both telecommunications service providers and global enterprises.

Kheradpir joins Juniper Networks from banking and financial services company, Barclays PLC, where he most recently held the role of chief operations and technology officer, and was also a member of its executive committee.

He first joined the company in 2011, and is credited as a catalyst for its transformation imperatives of twenty-first century industrialisation and customer-focused innovation.

Before Barclays, he worked as executive vice-president and chief information and technology officer at telco services provider, Verizon Communications.

He was an original member of the management team when Verizon was created, and through a decade of leadership, was an instrumental member of the team which transitioned the telco from a regional telephone company to a broadband, media, and global communications organisation.

Kheradpir holds a bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D in electrical engineering from Cornell University.

Ingram Micro hosted its third annual Cure Kids Charity Golf Tournament at the North Shore Golf Club in Auckland. In total, 131 resellers, vendors and Ingram Micro suppliers enjoyed a round of golf consisting of challenges on each of the 18 sponsored holes, with Team Philips taking out the top honours.
