International Business Exchange (IBX) datacentre and co-location provider, Equinix, has signed a global Solution Partner Agreement with Fixnetix to promote and extend the availability of the latter’s data feeds and trading connectivity solutions.
Fixnetic is a London-headquartered managed services provider (MSP) for ultra-low-latency market data, trading and risk control. It deals with banks, hedge funds, and proprietary trading groups seeking trading, market data, hosting, infrastructure connectivity and risk management solutions.
In addition to ensuring worldwide reach, the partnership adds to the organisations’ existing relationships and aims to address the growing demand from European and American market participants venturing into Asia-Pacific (APAC) market.
As a result, Fixnetix will move into Equinix’s IBX datacentres in Tokyo (TY3), Sydney (SY2), Hong Kong (HK1), and Singapore (SG1).
Equinix claims the IBX datacentres provide a neutral meeting place for the world’s electronic trading community, while controlling bandwidth costs, reducing capex and simplifying infrastructure.
The first stage of deployment intends to provide sub-millisecond access feeds and trading connectivity solutions to more than 10 local and 80 global execution venues.
“The Fixnetix portfolio of services has proved exceptionally popular with the financial services community, and its impressive growth over the past several years has enriched our financial ecosystem,” Equinix global financial services managing director, Stewart Orrell, said.
The partnership covers Fixnetix’s full range of data feeds and trading connectivity solutions, including iX-Direct, iX-Max, iX-Trade, @Source Hosting and iX-Eye.
