Advanced network solutions distributor, Westcon Group NZ, has been appointed the exclusive New Zealand distributor for security vendor Symantec's enterprise and SMB solutions.
Commencing September 1, Westcon will distribute the vendor's enterprise and SMB security, storage and data protection solutions.
"This exclusive distribution agreement will enable Westcon NZ to partner more closely with Symantec in the enterprise and SMB space and keep pace with the changing needs of the local market," Westcon NZ national vendor manager, Mark Baker, said.
According to Symantec NZ country manager, Michelle Amery, the appointment of Westcon is part of the vendor's re-evaluated go-to-market strategy and distribution model.
"The changes... are designed to reflect Symantec's evolving business and the changing needs of the local market," Amery said.
Weston has been one of several Symantec distributors since 2007, and the vendor's exclusive Cloud distributor since 2011.
Ingram Micro will remain the exclusive distributor for Norton products in NZ.
