Adobe announces new version of Creative Cloud

Reveals new single app plan for Creative Cloud for teams

Creative solutions vendor, Adobe, has launched a new version of Creative Cloud that enables creative teams to purchase membership of a single desktop application like Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC or any other of the entire collection of CC desktop applications.

Adobe now offers two team plans for Creative Cloud – the complete option that delivers 14 Adobe desktop applications, cross-device collaboration and publishing capabilities; or the new single app plan that includes access to one desktop application along with 20GB of storage and the ability to showcase work on creative community, Behance.

Adobe A/NZ head of channels, Steve Martin, said the new app plan is the next step in the company’s evolution that will drive significant additional opportunities for its partners to sell more products to their customers.

“I’m estimating an increase in unit sales of between 30 to 40 per cent with the addition of the single app,” he said.

According to Martin, it also allows resellers to expand their footprint within their current customers.

“In addition to supplying or meeting the demand of the marketplace, resellers will be able to expand their market opportunities and sell the products to other people that have not been able to afford it previously.”

Martin added that Adobe’s strategy from 2013 is on the Creative Cloud and moving its customers from the traditional models of purchasing perpetual licenses to purchasing it through the Cloud.

He said he expects the new offering to be widely used by the design community and marketing departments within businesses, especially SMBs, within verticals such as local government, architectural, construction and engineering, as well as retail.

The new single app plan of Adobe Creative Cloud for teams is available for a suggested retail price of $29.99 per user per month.

Existing customers with CS3 or later are eligible for single app membership at a suggested retail price of $19.99 per user per month.

Consumers will also be able to receive many of the benefits of full Creative Cloud for teams membership on the new single app plan for teams including updates to their favourite desktop CC application as new features become available and sharing files with colleagues.

Customers can pre-order from today, with product availability expected August 15.
