SAP inks agreements with Datacom and Express Data

Cloud agreement and distie deal announced

Software company, SAP, has inked an agreement with independent business technology solutions provider, Datacom.

As per the agreement, Datacom will offer SAP enterprise applications via its Cloud platforms and organisations across Australia and New Zealand will be able to access this suite of back-office processes paid for on a pay-as-you-go basis with scale-up and scale-down capabilities.

Datacom will offer delivery of SAP solutions through two service options: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or full business processing outsourcing.

Datacom claimed, in a statement, that its initial focus will be on “People Services”, through which it will deliver the SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) application, including payroll.

Expanding on its People Services in future, Datacom intends to offer a full suite of tools focused on the employee, delivered via a SaaS model.

Datacom investment director, Mark McWilliams, said the additional Cloud offering is expected to create a need for more service centres across the country, with the potential to generate new jobs.

“Through this new agreement, we can help organisations reduce their capital and up-front investments and achieve greater economies of scale by deploying SAP applications via Datacom’s cloud platforms,” he said.

SAP A/NZ ecosystem and channels general manager, Beth Ryan, claimed the agreement gives businesses more options in how they deploy enterprise applications.

We know our clients have embraced the concept of Cloud and consumption economics with open arms. We are very pleased to be working with Datacom as provider of Cloud, hosting and outsourcing services for SAP solutions,” she said.

SAP A/NZ has also entered into a distribution agreement with Express Data for SAP’s database and technology, analytics and enterprise mobility solution offerings.

As a strategic distribution partner, Express Data will provide end-to-end management and support for SAP resellers in Australia, from initial enquiry to the delivery of orders, which aims to streamline buying and administration processes.

Express Data will also handle all reseller contracts and certification requirements and support resellers with value-added services to help drive marketing, sales and implementation of SAP’s technology solutions.

Express Data director of vendors and marketing, Peter Masters, said the agreement provides its resellers access to a broad range of SAP’s solution portfolio, including analytics, managed mobility services, and SAP HANA.

“This partnership strengthens Express Data’s presence in the database and business application space is a complementary fit with our established channel. We believe there is a huge market potential for us to assist our partners to capitalise on the demand for enterprise solutions.” he said.

Ryan said that for SAP, the partnership with Express Data adds an important channel capability – by providing SAP with additional reach and coverage across the reseller network.

“Our partnership with Express Data allows us to further streamline and simplify how our resellers interact with and purchase products from SAP, in many cases cutting down the order-processing time to minutes,” she added.
