ON the back last month’s restructure that saw Tech Pacific re-arrange into three divisions, the company may introduce a new programme that could net its resellers extra income from existing customers.
According to a Tech Pacific employee the scheme is a licence renewal service that will inform resellers on a monthly basis when their clients’ licences are due to expire.
It would give resellers the opportunity to assist clients to manage and consolidate the disparate licence renewal dates of their clients, so that all licence anniversaries fall on the same day each year.
This, says the source, will ease cash-flow problems for end-users, as they will know exactly when licence renewal fees are due.
He adds that less than half of licences are renewed, leading to customers opting for more expensive upgrades.
The company’s sales and marketing director Vivienne Larsen would not comment on the initiative.
If the service is introduced it would be in addition to Tech Pacific’s role as an Authorised Licence Provider under Microsoft’s new Open Licence Value programme, which sees it billing customers directly for licences fees that are split over three years.
