StorageTek Veritas tie suits local distie

Albany-based distributor Datastor says a global service agreement signed by StorageTek and Veritas is a good move.

The agreement provides the basis for first and second-level support of joint customers, who will benefit from a single point of contact for storage support services.

Datastor sales manager Dave Rosenberg says the announcement is positive.

“Since we already deliver services for both companies this will give us another channel for sub-contracting. It means we can expand our reach by working closely with Veritas and StorageTek — alliance is the key to success,” he says.

Datastor distributes storage and networking hardware to a wide reseller base, covering system integrators, value-added resellers and SMEs.

StorageTek MD for Australia and New Zealand Philip Belcher says Veritas storage management software is in use at a large percentage of the company’s own customer base.

“This agreement allows us to offer those customers the experience and skills of StorageTek’s acclaimed customer service for the support of both our companies’ products, reducing the number of service providers the customer must interface with,” he says.

StorageTek has fully trained support staff, certified to deliver support services for Veritas products in Australia and New Zealand and the company promises quick resolution of customer incidents.
