Sierra Brands expands into Australia

New Zealand distributor Sierra Brands has branched across the Tasman and has its sights on further expansion into Asia.

Sierra Brands sales and marketing consultant Luke Fatooros says the Australian operation opened in October to expand on the Australasian licence for Dysan.

The company holds the only licence in the region to distribute Dysan, the European-made brand of recordable media.

“The way to evolve our business is through Australia. Essentially Australia is the hub and will eventually run the New Zealand branch of Sierra Brands,” he says.

Fatooros says Sierra Brands New Zealand carries different products from the Australian branch.

“In this country we distribute Akai and Telefunken products and have the house brand Dorado. The Australian branch has Perfect Ink, a visual identity package not available here.”

The company distributes to stationery retailers including Warehouse Stationery, and is currently in negotiation with Harvey Norman.
