BENEFITS of a technology partnership struck between Emerson Network Power and Cisco more than a year ago in the US are finally about to reach New Zealand.
Emerson Network Power, makers of Liebert UPS power systems, has released the Liebert IP Telephony Availability System, designed to protect mission-critical VoIP and IP telephony equipment.
Peter Spiteri, Emerson Network Power Australia New Zealand marketing manager, says the product will be sold directly through the company’s channel partners as well as Cisco engineers and partners, with all fulfilment done through the channel.
“Our direct sales team has a serious motive to assist resellers. It will be the resellers handling the installation - not Cisco or Emerson,” he says.
The Liebert system, which comprises a Liebert GXT2 true-online double conversion UPS, an SNMP web card and an external bypass switch, will range in price from NZ$2,880 and NZ$7,718, depending on the size of the UPS selected to power the system.
Spiteri says the 18-month partnership with Cisco is more of a technology partnership than a traditional business partnership.
“Cisco is the number one in VoIP while Emerson has come from the other side. We’ve been supplying critical mission to telcos and have brought that knowledge to the products. Basically, we provide the engineering knowledge and Cisco provides the technology.”
