IDC Blueprint points to growth

ANALYST firm IDC is holding its annual Directions conference next month - themed Blueprint for the Next Decade.

As the theme suggests, the focus is to provide a vision of future trends in technology and telecommunications. Keynote speaker David Cunliffe, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, will explain the government’s vision for the sector and how it intends to help fuel further growth.

Peter Hind from IDC Australia will address the needs of CIOs while Stephen Minton, IDC vice president Global IT spending, is flying in from the US to discuss how vendors need to review their processes to attract and retain customers. Local IDC analysts will provide insight into the telco, hardware and solutions markets. Graeme Muller, IDC country manager, is hoping to attract over 100 delegates to the Hilton Hotel.

“It’s a really exciting time in the industry. We’ve come out of a boom-and-bust period and are now entering a growth phase,” he says.
