Geac signs Integral as Smartstream partner

FOR the first time enterprise aoftware company Geac has signed a New Zealand reseller for its Smartstream Financials software.

Auckland-based Integral Consulting has been supporting Smartstream customers for a number of years but until now the relationship hasn’t been formal.

While Geac will continue to sell direct, operations manager Paul Mackenzie says his inhouse team will be fully supporting Integral Consulting.

“Historically Geac’s expertise has been in ERP systems rather than financial systems. Integral has a lot of focus in that area so it’s an excellent product fit,” he says.

Mackenzie says his company wants to increase the exposure of its product range here and partnering is the best way to achieve this.

He describes Smartstream as a complete set of modules for managing a medium to large company’s back office operations. It is a component of Geac’s Smartstream ERP suite. Version 7 of the product was recently released.

Rene Pascual, managing director Integral Consulting, is excited about the opportunities the partnership brings his company.

“We’ve been implementing and maintaining the product for the last few years. As most of our work revolves around financial software we can see the advantage in this,” says Pascual.

Sizing up the NZ security spectrum - Where's the channel sweet spot?

From new extortion schemes, outside threats and rising cyber attacks, the art of securing the enterprise has seldom been so complex or challenging. With distance no longer a viable defence, Kiwi businesses are fighting to stay ahead of the security curve. In total, 28 per cent of local businesses faced a cyber attack last year, with the number in New Zealand set to rise in 2017. Yet amidst the sensationalism, media headlines and ongoing high profile breaches, confusion floods the channel, as partners seek strategic methods to combat rising sophistication from attackers. In sizing up the security spectrum, this Reseller News roundtable - in association with F5 Networks, Kaspersky Lab, Tech Data, Sophos and SonicWall - assessed where the channel sweet spot is within the New Zealand channel.
