KROME Technologies is releasing a host of new gear designed to make the computer the centrepiece of digital home entertainment.
Available from July 10, the new Mcubed HFX Media PC is the first full-sized, bare-bone ATX chassis in New Zealand with truly silent passive cooling, the company says.
The HFX can run standard ATX equipment, such as a PSU, mainboard and DVD writer, but with silent, fanless cooling.
The dimensions of the HFX Media PC and its pure aluminium design means it fits perfectly into the home entertainment environment, says Krome.
Optional remote control, an integrated vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) and media centre software enhance the digital entertainment qualities of the machine.
For those who like to keep their PC out of the living room, Krome offers the Roku SoundBridge network music player.
The unit connects a stereo or powered speakers to a computer’s digital music library, wirelessly or through an Ethernet network.
It works with both PC and Mac digital music files and features built-in support for Apple Rendezvous, iTunes and Windows Media Player, as well as music services such as Napster, MSN Music, Musicmatch and Rhapsody.
