Big names unite to promote mobility

MICROSOFT NZ and Telecom Mobile have teamed up to market the benefits of mobility technology.

Both companies will jointly host customer conferences and events, lead the development of education and productivity tools and bring in a new range of email-capable mobile devices.

Stephen Stanley, Microsoft communication sector manager, sees a multitude of channel opportunities coming out of the partnership.

“Telecom and Microsoft will be taking on the education of business users, which should relieve resellers of that burden. It’s far easier to sell to a customer who knows about the technology,” he says.

Stanley points out that not every customer wanting to switch to a mobile work environment will have the infrastructure in place and will be reliant on those businesses that sell and implement such solutions.

Ken Kenrick, Telecom Mobile general manager, says the idea behind the educational initiative is to demonstrate to businesses the way investment in mobile and email technology can drive productivity.
