AUCKLAND-based Savio Solutions has scored exclusive Australasian rights to the Rendezvous venue management software, a deal which could soon see the company set up shop across the Tasman.
Savio has been the sole New Zealand reseller of Amlink event management software and with the addition of Rendezvous, the company believes it has the events market tied up.
Director Graham Barker says his company was looking for a product to complement Amlink and found it in Rendezvous, made by UK-based NFS Hospitality.
“The market here is quite small so there may be a bit of overlap between our existing Amlink customers — which tend to be event organisers — and the new clients we hope to pick up with Rendezvous. We’re going to target venues, hotel chains and big corporates,” he says.
Once Savio has several New Zealand clients using Rendezvous, Barker says he will look at establishing a base in Australia.
“I’m already talking to a couple of marketing people over there but we’ll probably kick off with a virtual office to get the ball rolling,” he says.
Along with event management, Savio has partnered with Frontrange and Pivotal to implement their customer relationship management (CRM) products.
Barker says CRM is Savio’s fastest growing market and recent client wins include the likes of Retrovision, Canon and the Tasman Orient Line shipping service.
“Part of our success comes from having a customer-centric approach. The product doesn’t matter as much to us because we sell the whole solution.”
He says many companies are still operating a clunky system and don’t have a central database, let alone any opportunity management, and sees Savio’s role as providing the strategy behind CRM.
“You can’t just put CRM in and expect to see instant results. It’s about the people and training — it’s changing interdepartmental behaviour towards sharing information.”
