Norman goes to Anyware

Norman goes to Anyware

A NEW exclusive arrangement will see Anyware Computer Accessories distribute special retail versions of Norman security software in Australia and New Zealand.

Anyware signed the deal with Melbourne-based Capital Security Solutions (CSS), the Norwegian vendor’s master distributor for the region. Anyware will distribute special DVD-case style retail packs of the Norman product range, which includes Norman Virus Control, Norman Personal Firewall, Norman Internet Control and Norman Ad-Aware SE Plus.

Mark Karpinski, managing director of CSS, says Anyware will focus solely on driving the Norman range into the retail sector. The Norman corporate range is sold through systems integrators and smaller distributors, such as ITB Distributors in Wellington.

Karpinski says customer numbers in Australia and New Zealand for the Norman range have quadrupled since CSS bought the vendor’s Australian operation in 2001.

“The office was mainly a development operation and did not have a sales focus,” he says.

Norman Virus Control contains Norman’s patented SandBox technology, which provides proactive antivirus protection by detecting unknown viruses, Trojans and worms.
