ITW jobs safe — for now

DESPITE redundancies in Australia, the New Zealand arm of distribution outfit IT Wholesale and Cellect remains intact.

Last week 40 redundancies were announced across the Tasman, as part of an ongoing company restructure in a bid to reduce operating costs.

The Australian stock exchange-listed Cellnet group includes New Zealand subsidiaries IT Wholesale and Cellect.

Recently appointed Cellnet managing director Adam Davenport says he is looking to improve efficiency and simplify the way his company does business and doesn’t rule out further streamlining.

Mike O’Brien, general manager IT Wholesale/Cellect New Zealand, says at this stage there will be no redundancies here.

“There’s not a lot more I can add at this stage. I can confirm we have had an on-

going plan to improve efficiencies,” he says.
