Netapp hires country manager

INTEGRATED network storage vendor Network Appliance (Netapp) has appointed Garry Collings as its New Zealand country manager.

Collings, crowned CIO of the Year at the 2004 Computerworld Excellence Awards, is probably best known as group general manager for IT at Toll NZ — and has a track record of 13 years in general management.

“I’m only four weeks into the job and I must admit it’s somewhat daunting. A lot of the attraction is that my job is getting the Netapp word out there,” he says.

Netapp is currently experiencing a period of high growth and Collings will support the overall requirements of his company’s customers.

Infinity Solutions was the first company to bring Netapp products into New Zealand and Collings says he intends to work closely with John Cortese, general manager, and his staff.
