Management Suite makes home with MPA

Security and workload software vendor Appsense is teaming with MPA to bring its flagship Management Suite into New Zealand.

Sean Walsh, vice president sales Australia New Zealand, says MPA is one of the mostly highly rated value-add distributors in the region and plans to work closely to find committed partners.

“No one vendor can do everything and that’s why we need a channel to pull it all together,” he says.

Appsense has a 100% indirect model delivering its Management Suite, which Walsh says addresses three key IT components — security, management and performance — for all servers and desktops.

Walsh believes the product is a success with customers that are dissatisfied with other tools on the market.

Rather than focusing on the bad — deliberate external malicious threats — Walsh says Management Suite manages the risks posed by human behaviour, information and software and application licensing. “Our software simply blocks 100% of mistrusted applications.”

As Walsh points out Appsense is one of the only vendors to have its software signed off in a Citrix terminal server environment. “We come from a Citrix base. In fact, Appsense is often known as the company that makes Citrix run faster.”

Steve Macmillan, MPA managing director, says the feedback from customers has been positive.

“Controlling licensing and applications — these are very real issues for businesses, and Appsense’s software addresses that,” he says.

So far, Macmillan says, he has had time and interest from resellers servicing the major corporate and government accounts.
