Broadband billing tool opens Net sales door

CANTERBURY-based Billing Solutions says its on the path to success with its broadband billing appliance Ezinet.

Michael Williams, managing director, says his company develops the software component that is integrated into imported hardware.

Ezinet provides high-speed internet access and separate billing which, says Williams, easily interfaces with property management systems such as Micros Fidelio or Phoenix’s Total Hospitality.

He says the appliance has achieved good growth through motel, hotel, apartment block and office businesses.

Williams believes bulk buying is power and says Ezinet allows users to mass purchase bandwidth and resell to guests or tenants as downstream internet.

According to Williams the company is very small and it contracts out most of its development work in order to keep costs down.

“Broadband is the key aspect of this and if it’s available to everyone then people will use it. We’ve even added wireless this year due to demand from customers,” he says.

Billing Solutions is a member of a number of organisations including the Canterbury Software Cluster and Sun Early Access.

Since launching the product last year Williams has signed on a Christchurch distributor-reseller and Wellington-based ISP Xtreme Networks to resell the appliance.
