Synnex offers online service

RECENTLY established distributor Synnex has launched a fully fledged website, enabling resellers to order goods online.

The site features customer-specific pricing, fully featured product information including images, customisable CSV [comma-separated values] files and the ability to add products to an electronic watchlist to generate price-change and stock-arrival emails.

Richard Harri, Synnex country manager, says the company spent a great deal of time developing the site to ensure all of the features were designed with resellers in mind.

It is for this reason the CSV function was added.

Recent reports in Reseller News showed CSV files were the chosen format in which resellers wanted to receive more information on products, says Harri.

“Resellers can now choose a broad range of product types or individual products, what information they require, the column ordering, plus the frequency of the CSV file to be received,” he says.

The CSV files can be used to populate a reseller’s internal ordering procurement system or on their own website, says Harri.

The site also provides notification of price changes and arrival of stock for backorders, which is some of the most important information resellers require from a logistics perspective, says Harri.

“Resellers can nominate which products they want to add to their watchlist. This enables them to select to receive an email from Synnex when there is a price change, when there is a price reduction or when stock arrives,” he says.

In future resellers will also be notified by email of changes to the estimated time of arrival of stock, although this information is currently provided in the CSV function.

Feedback from resellers already using the site has been very positive, says Harri, adding Synnex has invested heavily in the back-end systems to ensure the dependability of the site.

The system is also scalable to grow with the fledging operation as it expands.

Synnex entered the local market in July and stocks Intel, D-Link, Asus, Western Digital, Logitech and ViewSonic products.
