Quest plans due in March

Quest Software will officially launch its local office early next month.

At this time it is also due to spell out its plans for the local channel.

Quest’s entry into New Zealand follows its acquisition of Wellington software developer AfterMail in January for US$45 million.

It has since changed AfterMail’s name to Quest New Zealand and announced plans to integrate AfterMail’s enterprise email archiving technology into its Archive Manager application.

However it has not yet revealed any of its plans for the local channel, but says the local company will now sell its application, database and infrastructure management offerings.

Quest is based in California and claims to have over 18,000 customers worldwide. It has three offices in Australia — in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.

It will retain AfterMail’s product development team in Wellington.
