Local software goes global

Auckland-based financial software developer Workbench International hopes to soon be reaping the rewards of a partnership with SAP.

Workbench developed a cost management application for project-based industries – such as construction and professional services – that integrates with SAP’s Business One software.

Clive Gardner, Workbench director, says the partnership gives his company the opportunity to take its products to the international market. The application will be marketed through SAP’s internet portal for channel partners, he says.

“I want to grow a solid international business and SAP’s development strategy is key to that.”

Gardner says Workbench will work with accredited SAP partners in Australia and New Zealand to market the package to existing Business One customers.

Currently Melbourne-based Acumen Alliance and Sydney-based Leverage Technologies are accredited to sell and implement Workbench in Australia.

The company is also making inroads in Asia and the UK. “We have appointed a distributor in the UK that will work with SAP over there and we already have a partner in Malaysia that is moving Workbench into Singapore.”

The plan, he says, is to continue expansion through the appointment of regionally

strategic partners.
