Express Data’s dumping of Check Point was unexpected, however the vendor’s Australian distributor Lan Systems says it’s ready to start transacting with New Zealand.
In fact, general manager Wendy O’Keeffe says her company is chomping at the bit.
“We are pretty excited to get Check Point exclusively because it is such a strong brand. I must admit I wasn’t expecting this to happen in New Zealand so it’s been rather interesting to set this up so quickly,” she says.
As of Monday Lan Systems began running its New Zealand business through a Sydney-based team and has a dedicated hotline for queries.
Lan Systems has already recruited Dayle Barnes from Express Data as its New Zealand Check Point representative.
O’Keeffe says her company has a seven-week strategy to set up a local office.
“Within the next few weeks we will have a full e-commerce and ERP system in place and I expect to make a further announcement shortly.”
Lan Systems already has Frank Ollie representing its interests here.
