Viewsonic slashes LCD price

Faster just got cheaper with Viewsonic’s latest price hack of its 19-inch monitor, the VX922. Following the lead of Viewsonic Australia, local distributor Dove Electronics has reduced the price from $849 to $599 (ex GST).

Jonathan Williams at Dove says the drop in price is a reaction to Viewsonic’s action in Australia. “The cost is dramatically reduced, setting a new price point for LCD monitors in its range.”

“This monitor is one of the absolute fastest things out there at the moment and it seems our competitors are struggling to keep up with us. It’s an issue of getting the balance between speed and accuracy; some of our competitors are close on speed but not on accuracy.”

Williams says the monitor is aimed at the performance market, especially with gaming and high-resolution video in mind.

The VX922 features a 2-millisecond video response time and digital high-definition broadcast quality. Viewsonic also offers a three-year zero-bright-pixel guarantee on its entire monitor range.
